Managers
Do your managers give their people what they need to succeed?
Managers connect people’s potential with the organisation’s strategy and priorities. When they agree with people what is expected and what they decide, and give them useful feedback and recognition, individual performance becomes team performance. TORVAKO develops managers and gives them practical tools to do this in their everyday work.
The manager is the link between strategy and people.
The organisation sets the direction and people turn it into results. The manager explains to their people what it means for their work and gives them support. How they do it decides whether people succeed and whether performance lasts.
TORVAKO develops managers’ ability to:
- explain to people what matters now and why
- agree with people what they are responsible for and what they decide
- give feedback, recognition and support
- connect collaboration and hand-offs across teams
- recognise the causes of overload and weak performance and remove obstacles
- develop people’s skills as demands change

We choose the formats based on what the measurement shows and what the team is dealing with right now.
Academies and workshops
A group of leaders works on situations from their own operations. The topics follow the results of the measurement.
Online micro-lessons
Short lessons between sessions. They keep the topic alive in everyday work and take no more than a few minutes.
Individual development
One-to-one sessions on a leader’s specific situation. For new leaders, successors and periods of change.
Field work
The consultant joins the leader at work, in meetings, with customers or on ride-alongs. Feedback comes on the spot.
Digital tools
Downloadable handbooks and cards as part of development. Leaders keep using them at work after the programme ends.
Before-and-after measurement
The same measurement at the start and after an agreed period. It shows what has changed in the team and demonstrates the return on the investment.
Frequently asked questions
Who is the programme for managers for?
For team leaders from supervisors to senior leadership, for new leaders, for successors taking on greater responsibility, and for talents you are preparing for leadership roles.
Do all managers have to take part at once?
No. We can choose one team and take its manager through an individual development programme. Based on the results, you then extend it to other teams.
How long does the programme take?
We set the length and format of the programme based on the measurement results and the team’s situation. We agree them at the first meeting.
Can we combine the programme for managers with the programme for individuals?
Yes. Both programmes are built on the same five steps, so a manager and their people can work in parallel and build on each other.
How will we know the programme works?
We measure in the same way at the start and after an agreed period. You will see what has changed in the team’s decisions, work and results.
We start with one team and its leader.
At the first meeting we go through the situation and decide whether it calls for the programme, for measurement or for something else.
